Ways to Pamper Yourself on a Budget

Are you a mom on a budget? Do you feel like you can't afford to pamper yourself? I have some great news for you! You can still enjoy a bit of self love, even when money is tight. Here are some tips for self pampering on a budget:

1. Take a relaxing bath: Add some soothing aromatherapy or add a few drops of lavender oil to your bathtub to help you relax. Soaking in a nice warm bath is as close as I can get to a spa day these days. I have taken the steps to make my bath experience as relaxing as possible, especially after a long day of work and juggling the little. Making the bath relaxing will vary from mom to mom, but some items to include could be: candles, soft music, a body scrub, your favorite bath soak and body wash, and a nice moisturizer. Create a spa like routine that will put you in a relaxed state. Trust me mama, you deserve!


2. Try a DIY facial: Mix together some honey, lemon juice and oatmeal to make a natural facial scrub. Apply to your face and scrub in a circular motion. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer. This is a great way to get rid of any dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling refreshed. Who said you had to spend $100+ to have beautiful skin?


3. Indulge in a mani/pedi: A good old fashioned mani/pedi can do wonders for the soul. If you don't have the time or money to go to a salon, try doing it yourself at home. All you need is some nail polish, scissors, a buffer, and a bowl of hot water. Cut your nails and file them into the desired shape. Soak your hands in the hot water for a few minutes to soften them up, and then push back your cuticles. Apply a base coat, two coats of color, and a top coat. Let them dry for a few minutes and you're done!


4. Take yourself on a self-care date: This could be something as simple as taking yourself out to breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Or treat yourself to a movie, afternoon at the spa, or shopping trip. The important thing is that you are taking some time for yourself and enjoying it. I've found that grabbing a nice cup of my favorite coffee and going on a walk has been very relaxing. It allows me to have time for myself and clear my head.

Pampering yourself doesn't have to be expensive. There are many ways to enjoy self love on a budget. Try some of these tips and see how you feel.
